Very useful. Given that my N810 is now permanently on my night table and it serves as a alarm clock, this app eliminates the need to use the cumbersome original clock. Hopefully the small issues will be solved.
Beautiful and large clock gives this app right to exists in the first place (no need to find the glasses first)! The finger-friendly way of setting alarms is also something cool, which should in fact be found in every application on Maemo platform! Well, that just keeps it Linux :)
A little unstable though. Click or tap in the wrong place and it hangs for ever (say hello to kill -9 python). Now that I now what not to do, it has proven to be reliable and helpful.
Love the look of it. Nicely thought out. As others have said it's quite buggy, so I won't be keeping it installed. Fingers crossed they'll get worked out because I would really like to use this. One thing I really would pay for (but doubt since only the N800 has it) is a wake to radio option.
Keep up the good work. I have been using it since the past 3-4 days and love the flips. Thanks for the application!
Very nice and usefull application.
But for me, it only works reliably if I just start it and let it run. Changing the skin by taping "Night Light"/"Clock Mode" works too.
Switching to the settings screen sometimes happens if I randomly touch the screen. However, most times, it does not switch to the settings screen, but leaves fullscreen mode and freezes. (doesn't respond to anything, stays black if it was hidden behind an other application or menu). It needs a kill -9 to terminate.
The applications menu title is "unknown".
The switch labels in the settings screen (eg. alarm "on"/"off") are hard to read for me due to the colour chosen.
The way of setting the alarm time - moving your finger over the digits - is very good design, congratulations!
So I consider this "beta", but very promising!
I am running OS2008 on an N810
A great full-screen bedside alarm clock. My bedside buddy when traveling.
You can use your own MP3 audio files for the alarm, and if you set an alarm and then shut down flipclock (or even shut down the tablet), your alarm will still go off, because flipclock uses the system alarm, which will wake the tablet.
Very important feature: it has an "insomniac mode" that leaves the screen's backlight on, very dimly, all the time, so you can see the time, even in the middle of the night, without trying to tap the screen (which usually leads to me knocking the tablet over and waking up the wife).
My favorite new feature is the new skinning capability, allowing the flipclock to also be a nixie-tube clock.
seems to work, only full screen clock I could find
