It works well as stated. I really like the ability to enter a puzzle from a magazine or newspaper.

I do have a few comments/recommendations I'd like to make.

I found the red markup numbers hard to read. I then realised that the markup numbers were only red if they were invalid options and were white if valid. If you're going to effectively show us what numbers are valid possibilities in each cell, why not simply include an option or button to automatically fill in all the markup numbers and save us the time of having to work them out?

Some may think of that as cheating, but reality is that it's not difficult to work out valid possibilities per cell and having the software work it out for you saves you a lot of (monotonous, boring) time and allows you to enjoy the actual solving of the puzzle. I used to have this feature in a version of sudoku on my Palm and it really made the puzzle very enjoyable.

I also find the colour scheme and font hard on the eyes. I think it needs a font where the thickness of the lines/curves don't vary depending on the slant. Also, a dark font on a light background is easier on the eyes. Perhaps it may be possible for the user to choose the colours from a menu?

And that's it really. If these two issues could be addressed I'd certainly give it five stars!
