TiMidity++ is a software synthesizer. It can play MIDI files by converting them into PCM waveform data; give it a MIDI data along with digital instrument data files, then it synthesizes them in real-time, and plays. It can not only play sounds, but also can save the generated waveforms into hard disks as various audio file formats.
TiMidity++ is a free software, distributed under the terms of GNU general public license.

Recompiled and sent to diablo builder too. VFP enabled and hildonized GTK interface enabled.
Port to Maemo (thanks to Klaus Rotter and his Bomberman garage project)

there is something i cannot describe on the UI that bothers me, but all in one nice app for MIDIS. really good
I really like being able to play MIDIs on my tablet. However, I'd like a way to activate timidity as a server for use with other applications.

Thanks! Klaus Rotter made it so you can use the --soundfont option with the command line to specify a different soundfont file. Like you already said, you can edit /etc/timidity/timidity.cfg to make your new choice permanent.

I am diggin the GUI for it. Would be nice if we could change the Soundfont being used. I know last version you just had to change the cfg file.
Still, thanks a lot for the update! Plays MIDI's very well!
