Tools for the customization and overclock Linux kernel

Installing this package will automatically also install Linux kernel with overclock support (e.g Linux kernel for power user).

The command /usr/sbin/kernel-config can be used to load, save and show CPU frequency, voltage and DSP settings. It can also set defaults which are loaded during boot. Different profiles can be stored in the user's home directory.

Kernel modules specified in /etc/modules are loaded during boot.

The boot scripts contain safety mechanisms to temporarily disable them after a crash for recovery.

At the moment this package only contains some scripts to help configuring the settings of the enhanced kernel. They are by default inactive. As it depends on this kernel, it will also install the enhanced kernel. More information can be found at the wiki page of the kernel http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power It does not (yet) provide GUI as the CLI icon indicates. It is both for power settings and power users. The next version will have a more elaborate description.

Exactly like Ian said... I do not want to instal anything with word "kernel" in name if I dont know what is it doing.

This could use a much better description. What exactly does this do? What kind of settings does it provide (settings to do with power, or settings that a "power user" would want)?

Do I have to modprobe stuff to make it work or does the package take care of that for me? Does this provide a GUI for kernel settings, or just the entries is sysfs?
