MicroB "Back" Button Behaviour Change

Posted on 2010-02-10 05:44 UTC by Brett Helgeson. Status: Under consideration, Categories: Internet & Networking.

At the moment when you click the back button in MicroB it brings up the browser history to scroll/flick through. This can be a bit time consuming when all you want to do is go to the previous page.

Solution #1: Tap to go back, hold to show browser history

Posted on 2010-02-10 05:45 UTC by Brett Helgeson.

The proposed solution is: Tapping the back button once goes to the previous page. Holding the back button for 2 secs brings up the browser history to flick through.

Solution #2: Flick gesture goes back 1 page, back button becomes browser history button

Posted on 2010-02-10 05:51 UTC by Brett Helgeson.

In this solution the "Back" flick gesture (sliding your finger from right of screen to left) is changed to go to the previous page only. The back button is modified to bring up the browser history.

Solution #3: Left arrow goes back, swipe causes history to display

The obvious third option is that the back button behaves like every other browser, and goes back one page, while the lesser used "view history" is tied to the left-to-right flick gesture.  This is what I assumed it would be when I first used it, and was suprised to find the back button did not just go back one page, like it does for literally every other browser in the world.

Solution #4: Use backspace to go back

Posted on 2010-03-02 22:46 UTC by Zilvinas B..

Tap backspace on keyboard to go 1 page back in MicroB history. This is already impletemented.

Altgough not very handy when using the browser without the keyboard.
