location based unequal hours (clock for Religion, Astronomy, Astrology etc)

(see bug: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4588 )

It would be nice if you could add the ability to know current unequal hour - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hour#Hour (a.k.a. temporal, seasonal, planetary hour: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetary_hours) to the clock (maybe as separate widget since one doesn't need it all the time) and to the alarm, so that one could set the alarm on certain unequal hour or certain amount of (normal) time before certain unequal time. It is useful for many areas: Aviation, Religion, Astronomy, Meditation, Astrology, etc.. What I personally need it for is the ability to set the alarm 20min before the sunrise(00:00) or sunset(12:00) in order not to miss this wonderful moments once I'm on hiking in the mountains or on holidays on sea. It is important to take the altitude into account while calculating local sunrise/sunset time, in order to have proper/exact functionality.

3 solutions for this brainstorm.

While there are available multiple solutions for DSLR Geotagging, would it not be very convenient (and economical) to use the exiting equipment like the N900? This would eliminate need to carry (and purchase) a separate device.

3 solutions for this brainstorm.

ANT+ support

There exists a protocol named ANT+ which is touted as a low power wireless sensor network. Many devices use it, in particular bicycle computers and heart rate monitors. It apparently uses frequencies in the 2.4GHz band. I know there are many transceivers in the N900. I was hoping one of them could be made to work with ANT+. Even though I am a developer, I have never worked with wireless protocols or RF in general, so I thought I would ping on others here before going on a wild goose chase.

ANT+ homepage

Some Linux software already works with the protocol using a USB adaptor that is basically an ANT+ to serial adaptor:

another ANT+ utility

Flexible Bluetooth Audio Priorities

I raised this as a wishlist bug, but have been prodded to move it here.

Maemo 5 Wishlist (I'd love S60 to do this too....)

1) I'm in the car with bluetooth stereo and bluetooth headset - I want A2DP audio to go to the stereo for music and phone calls to go to the headset and all other "system" sounds to go the device and the headset - not the stereo.

2) I'm at home, have Bluetooth speakers that support A2DP and various otherprofiles but have no microphone - I want to be able to tell N900 to never try and use audio in for this device - and preferably never to use this device for a call.

The solution I want is both (or at least one) of

a) I want priority list for each service type such as "Music", "Phone calls", "System alerts", "Ring tones", "Alarm tones" I set which devices to use in order, or not to disable - including the system speaker/headphones!

so I can have:

"phone calls":

1) Jabra BT530

2) Jawbone Prime

3) Sony Stereo xxx

4) Wired headset

5) Internal

-) Blackbox Mini

(The blackbox has no mic so out of the list)

"Music"

1) Sony Stereo xxx

2) Blackbox mini

3) Jabra BT530

4) Wired headset

5) Internal

-) Jawbone Prime

(Although you _can_ play music on the prime - its crap, and I'd rather it go tothe speakers even when I have the prime in my ear, on and connected)

b) in the Paired devices list to be able to set "controls" on every device - ie be able to set options for each device like:

- type = music / phone calls / any

- phone

- ring_tones = yes / no / exclusive

- alarm_tones = yes / no / excluseive

- system_tones = yes / no / exclusive

where exclusive means to not send to other devices lower in the priority order or internal speakers.

1 solutions for this brainstorm.
