As the title says, I think having a widget for your email inbox (at least unread emails, but this could be a setting) in a Blackberry-like fashion would be very helpful.

Volume up/down keys when held adjusts the volume slowly

This is a minor brainstorm but it would be nice to see it implemented.
Volume up/down keys when held adjusts the volume slowly. They should adjust it exponentially as the keys are held.
This is a fast shortcut for volume up/down, and I may want to decrease the volume in a fast way when for example, in Angry birds where I do not have access to the status area, so it would take a while to go to zero.
Allow a single contact on the desktop more than once.

To help if my phone is lost, I have a "PHONE OWNER" contact. I want to place a link to this contact on each desktop, but I can't because each contact can be placed on the desktops only once, so I had to make 4 such contacts, which is really annoying.
Please fix.

Type to start application

Nokia's built in interface displaying all applications as well as catorise and my menu does not start application or go to the application name automatically. It would be excellent if an app can be started by just typing its name. For eg if I type C, it should just list apps that start with C, if I type Ca, it should list calendar, camera or what apps the user has starting with Ca.
