Call recording

Posted on 2009-10-23 21:27 UTC by John Veness. Status: Implemented, Categories: Utilities.

The N900 does not have a feature to record calls. This could be useful to users. For example: Your wife called you to buy the groceries. With this recording function you can simply click on the record button to record the conversation then play back the conversation to listen to the item needed by your wife.

Email (Modest): Keep Sent and Drafts on IMAP server

Modest stores sent email and draft emails locally. Evolution, for instance, allows you to choose folders on your IMAP account, in the preferences.

I use IMAP specifically so I can use any client on any machine and see all of my mails. I don't want any client storing things locally, except as a cache. Thus, I'd like to keep my Sent and Drafts folders on my IMAP server.

Add voting for the actual ideas

Posted on 2009-06-22 15:04 UTC by F Random. Status: Implemented, milestone: Fremantle, Categories: maemo.org.

Brainstorm type sites that I have used before allow users to rate the ideas themselves, but the current maemo.org implementation appears to only allow rating the solutions.  Whilst this is nice to see which solution would be preferred, it does not give a clear indication of which ideas are considered the most useful/important by the community.  A further issue with the current system is that if you do not propose a solution to your idea, you can't get any votes at all.  Rating of the idea itself should be the most obvious option available to a viewer, and solution ratings should be kept but given less emphasis.

Protecting private content when lending device

Posted on 2009-10-24 13:39 UTC by John Veness. Status: Under consideration, Categories: System.

When I get my Maemo 5 device, I imagine I will want to show it off to other people, and let other people try it out for themselves, as it looks like it will be very 'touchable' and nice and easy to use. I would like to do this because of being proud of the device, and this also might encourage other people to get one.
