Fremantle/N900 should show that it's alive

Posted on 2009-10-27 15:19 UTC by Joep Schroen. Status: Under consideration, Categories: User Experience.

Problem: Currently there's no way to see (quickly) that the N900 is still alive or that it has a empty battery.

Suggestion: Show a blinking LED just like the N810 does.

Widget: Bank Account Balances

So I don't think I'm alone in wanting to be able to see my account balances at a glance (this is why they invented mobile banking). I think it would be really useful to have a widget on the desktop which shows an overview of your accounts and their balances, maybe updated once a day or on demand, or something.

I figure it would be a simple text output:

CHQ1   $160.54
SAV1   $1401.76
RENT    $600.00
BILLS   $55.02

Obviously depending on how many accounts you have..

Rethink Placement of the Task Switcher

Posted on 2009-09-04 20:21 UTC by vamsi kanumuri. Status: Under consideration, Categories: User Experience.

I have been watching the maemo 5 videos. What i found is that task switcher virtual button is placed on the left side upper corner of the screen. In comparision the  same virtual button was placed in the left side lower corner of the screen on the previous tablets. Of course there was also a hardware button on the earlier devices. When i hold the device with both hands with the keyboard open, it is very ergonomic to press the task switcher virtual button when it is present in the lower left corner when compared to the same button bieng placed on the upper left corner.
